Inspiring you to Walk in Gorge-ous Surroundings

Our main event is our nine day annual Walking Festival which traditionally starts on the first Saturday of the May Day Bank Holiday but we do offer other events throughout the year. To keep up to date with what is happening, please check out our Facebook and Twitter pages or you can follow us on Eventbrite by clicking HERE. Alternatively, drop us an email and we can add you to our mailing list.

Latest News

02/05/24 Throughout our festival, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust is offering a 20% discount on the book '6 Historical Walks around the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site', available in all museum gift shops. A must-read for local walkers or for people visiting the area and wanting to learn more!

We have many people staying in the area for the festival, so we hope your find our 'Places We Visit' section helpful or you can also go to 'Visit Telford'.

29/04/24 5 sleeps to go before the Festival starts - we've got around 130 places still available and with the final reminders going out Monday and Thursday of this week - there's still a chance that you may get a place on a wonderful walk. You can view our programme below and easily see which walks have availability on Eventbrite.

Keep an eye out during the week of the Festival as well, as there may be some more changes as people swap walks to reach the magic numbers for a medal of 25, 50, 75, and 100 miles, or even the inaugural Cartman Challenge Medal for 150 miles. This medal is in recognition of Neil, our former Chair, whose leadership of the Festival enabled it to grow significantly, gaining a fantastic reputation both locally and nationally. Neil is very honoured to bestow his name to the challenge and completed this distance himself frequently over many Festivals.  It has been done!

Any questions please get in touch asap as we'll be out walking from Saturday, working towards our own medals!

01/03/24 If you would like to be on our mailing list - please contact us at info@ironbridgewalking.co.uk or click the email button on our pages and an email will pop up for you to send.
