One of the mostly requested asks from our walkers is to have more walks and more places available. We can't offer much more than we do, as we have an extensive programme of over 60 walks ranging from 2 to 21 miles which has grown massively since our first Festival in 2005.
Booking Tips
With a mailing list of over 1,200 people, demand for the places is always going to be high, so here are some tips for booking:
Set up an Eventbrite account before bookings open - this retains some information to make booking quicker
Use our new QR code, to take you straight to our Eventbrite site
Follow us on Eventbrite, you can then quickly navigate to our page by using your account drop down menu and going to the "Following" option. Without this, finding pages on Eventbrite through their search page can be tricky
Log into your account just before 10am on the days bookings open and find our page.
Plan ahead, choose your walks and put them in priority order
Book your walks in priority order and not by day - the walks that are really popular are the Apley Estate, the All Nations, the Coalport Ferry Disaster and walks up to 10 miles
You can book two tickets on one order, but please use individual names
Book directly through Eventbrite (and not via our website as this involves more clicks before getting to Eventbrite).
If your walks are of a similar mileage then use the Collections by Mileage for your bookings
Please book responsibly and if you are unable to make the walk, please cancel it as soon as possible
If you aren't able to get on your chosen walk, do keep an eye on Eventbrite, it is a live system so there are always changes, particularly when reminders go out.
Choosing the right walk first time and being able to book quickly
Here's what we do to help people choose the right walk first time and be able to book quickly:
Make our whole programme visible on Eventbrite, two weeks before the bookings open, so you can peruse the offerings and plan ahead before bookings open
Distribution of leaflets throughout the County
Make it clear in the title of the walk, whether the walk is a Walk and Talk or Dog Friendly as well as retaining the distance information
Streamlined the ordering process so no longer requesting postcode information for each walk
Provide more detailed information about the walk route on Eventbrite following a standardised format
Made a clear distinction between our Walk and Talk events and our usual walks, so that people can choose the best walk for them as the routes may overlap
Maximising capacity
We also take steps to ensure that the maximum number of places are available by right up until the start of the festival by:
Walk Leaders giving the maximum number of places available from the start of the festival
Encouraging people to cancel their places as soon as possible and offering support if needed
Monitoring the orders placed and contacting people if we see duplicate places or overbooking
Offering popular walks such as the short Apley Estate and the Coalport Ferry Disaster twice
We hope you like the programme and we look forward to seeing you at the Festival - Happy Booking!
