Inspiring you to Walk in Gorge-ous Surroundings
Our main event is our nine day annual Walking Festival which always starts on the first Saturday of the May Day Bank Holiday. 2027 celebrates 22 years of walking in the Gorge and the 40th anniversary of Ironbridge Gorge as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wellington Walking Festival - Bookings are now open for this wonderful festival starting on Monday 14th September and running until Sunday 20th September. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. You can see all the walk information here
AGM - Our Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 29th July 2026 and we were delighted to retain all Committee Members in the same roles as last year. We look forward to planning next year's festival and if anyone would like to donate to contribute to the £2,000 running costs, our bank details are below. We are committed to keeping the festival free, but we still need to cover our costs for insurance, website hosting, walk leader resources, leaflets and medals. We have around 50 people who make the festival happen and everyone gives their time for free, so the costs are kept as low as possible.
2026 Festival - That's a wrap for our 21st anniversary Festival, we had a great time with over 400 of you, and our fabulous Walk Leaders, Co-Leaders and Back-markers, walking over 8,500 miles which is a third of the way around the Earth! It is always a delight and privilege to share our passion for walking and love for the stunning Ironbridge Gorge. Later in the year, the Gorge celebrates 40 years of UNESCO World Heritage Status and we will celebrating this milestone during our 2027 festival.
More Walking - If you want to keep walking until our next festival, check out "More Walking" in the Out and About section of our website. This includes information from Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, Shropshire's Great Outdoors, the National Trust which includes the Shropshire Hills, and local Ramblers groups. It also has links for forthcoming festivals in Telford, Evesham and Wellington.
Thinking of walking with us in the future? Our 2026 Programme featured 64 walks covering 567 miles of the Ironbridge Gorge and surrounding areas and had over 1,200 places available. From 2 miles to 21 miles, our festival has something for everyone.
